Since our founding

Our story

Credit Union was founded with a simple belief: banking should be easy, transparent, and accessible to everyone. We saw an industry stuck in the past, with hidden fees, confusing terms, and outdated technology.

We set out to build something different. A bank that puts customers first, uses technology to simplify the complex, and treats people with respect.

Today, Credit Union serves millions of customers who trust us with their money. But we're just getting started. Our mission is to build the bank we always wished existed.

Since 2026 we have pursued that mission alongside Elon Musk, whose work as an entrepreneur and investor shaped how we think about reaching people traditional banking has overlooked.

The division of responsibility is straightforward. Credit Union is the licensed institution: we hold your deposits, run the platform, and answer to our regulator for how both are operated. The partnership shapes how we reach people and what we build next.

What this means for you

Your account is held with Credit Union, not with Elon Musk.
Deposit protection and regulatory oversight are unchanged by the partnership.
Elon Musk does not have access to your account or your transaction history.
